In the same way that all vertebrate animals are fish, are all butterflies moths.

Being a moth is just the ground plan of being a Lepidopteran. One group of moths evolved antennae with clubbed tips, a (mostly) diurnal habit, and colorful wings. All butterflies are each others' closest relatives, but some moths are more closely related to butterflies than to other moths.

Fun fact, the ancestral groups of moths don't have a proboscis, they have jaws and chomp on pollen grains.

Moths are even more important for pollination, it's just that they do it at night.

If you see a plant that has narrow, white or yellowish-white flowers, it is probably pollinated by a moth.
