I missed the game and just watched the highlights which is not the best way to gauge things but holy poo poo it's like the Chargers were doing a checklist of losing in the most humiliating way possible: bad tackling, multiple fumbles lost, a muffed punt, a fat man TD, a trick play TD, a wildcat TD, an one-handed pick six on a screen pass so bad the DB almost went past the ball... truly amazing effort

I didn't realize Brandon Bolden was still in the league. I miss having him on the Pats.

Um okay so my coworker is a unique combination of young (-er than me at least), divorced, no kids, Raiders fan, makes a lot of cash as a VP and a degenerate loving gambler. Well, degenerate sounds like he loses more than he wins and that's not accurate.

He hit a parlay on this game last night and wouldn't tell me how much he won. But he said his odds were plus 20,000. He's leaving at lunch and flying to Vegas. He wouldn't tell me anymore real hush hush but I have this weird feeling he's won something...substantial. He was betting on multiple touchdowns per quarter somehow. He says it's because of his Chinese heritage which I believe. Having a Chinese dad is important because according to him Chinese dads seem to pass on the ability to gamble successfully haha. Everything I have seen reinforces this broad generalization.

I can't tell if he's going to Vegas to gamble more....or because he needs to cash it in in person? He said he was so close to making a bet that was +30,000 and he would have won that too.

I agree with what others have pointed out. From 30,000 feet (and/or fantasybrain) the roster looks stocked. But everyone except Herbert is loving old and has a comical cap hit. You're looking at either a pretty substantial rebuild, or extending/restructuring a bunch of dudes like Keenan and Mike Williams and Ekeler and Mack who are on or near the wrong side of 30.

During the Rivers era it was easy to say "this QB is such a dork and I love it." That's it - that's the only reason to ever have rooted for the Chargers. Before Rivers there were no real fans. Since then it has been flashes of adequacy on the field surrounded by bad coaching and worse ownership that has completely destroyed the remaining fanbase.

If you ask locals about their favorite players in Chargers history, it is:
1) Rivers but he is a crazy religious dude
2) LT but he is more remembered for his terrible jacuzzi commercials
3) Junior Seau but then everyone gets sad
4) Merriman except for the domestic violence and Tila Tequila and oh boy...
5) Who is on the team now? I don't follow ever since they left

If it's a substantial enough payout he'll likely have to claim it in person and fill out paperwork too I think. He's probably also gonna gamble more

Just saying, the Chargers have only four players over 30 on their offense, 7 picks in the draft including the 5th overall as of now and they have The Guy at QB.

They are way ahead of most teams in terms of what is possible.

My daughter has latched onto the Dolphins for no other reason than "they have the best colors and also I like dolphins". Which, hell, is hard to argue. She's also getting into the Broncos now that we are in Colorado since that's who all her friends root for.

She was alive but not old enough to appreciate the Pats' Seahawks through Rams super bowl runs. So to her they're just some dogshit loser team nobody in their right mind would root for :smith: in b4 "she's right"
