It's probably not a name on anyone's list but Norman Jewison died. He directed a lot of good movies like In the Heat of the Night, Fiddler on the Roof, Moonstruck, The Thomas Crown Affair, Jesus Christ Superstar, Rollerball, ...And Justice for All, A Soldier's Story, The Hurricane and others. The original Thomas Crown movie is well worth watching. It's a love story as a chess match and has a lot of the interesting cinematic touches that came in the late sixties.
