I'm pretty sure he says "rear end" and the subtitles are just wrong. "Tastes like rear end" is a thing people say. "Tastes like gas" isn't. I haven't watched the whole thing with the dub subtitles on, but just a few seconds earlier the subtitles say "Gives you the run or something fierce", when he clearly says "Gives you the runs something fierce".
