I had a fondness for post-apocalyptic films that used to pop up on the Scifi Channel back in the day. Waterworld was a big influence (still dig the soundtrack). I also liked The Postman, even if I preferred the book.

Neon City had its charms, even if it was basically Michael Ironside being a low-rent Mad Max taking an RV trip in the year 2053.

You have my attention.

Sorry, went on a mental health break from the internet. Neon City is streaming on Tubi if you're interested. I watched it recently and it still holds up. Doesn't over explain anything, just drops hints about the state of the world. The Swiss apparently reign supreme in their Alpine Bunkers subsisting entirely on chocolate stored from before the apocalypse.

Anytime I mention FREAKED to someone who hasn’t seen it, they just don’t believe that it’s real.

When saying something in the affirmative, I still occasionally say “eye and eye” and it whooshes over everyone’s head. Sad times we live in.

It’s legitimately one of my favorite movies of all time.

An alarming amount of my friends' movie references come from Freaked.
