MikeJF posted:Was that meant to be the Vortex? It just looked like it was just semi-abstract art, it was all clocks and planets and gallifreyan writing, never a bit that looked vortex-ish. Even the circley bit at the end with the TARDIS flying through was made of symbols. Yep, each opening sequence is meant to show/represent the time vortex of that era https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QNszKKAtEwU quote:I feel bad for the cameraman that shot all of these, must’ve been really stressful constantly having to go hurtling through the time vortex every time the BBC needed a new intro Now we just have to wait for them to add 14/15 to the list

Jerusalem posted:Anyway, this all reminds me of The 5 Doctors where each of the Doctors appears to walk into the one TARDIS but it turns out that all of their respective versions of the TARDIS are just sitting in the same place at the same time. Imagine if One had come back out and grumpily asked who added color to his TARDIS - he liked the classic monochrome, thank you very much!

I'd love to see a Heaven Sent-quality episode about the Doctor wandering through the TARDIS between their adventures without a companion, just musing to themselves about whatever Maybe even have ghostly echoes of Doctors past they talk/react to, or silently reminisce about those they lost Imagine Eight wandering the corridors, finally catching up on his knitting after Bi-regenerating

Having it be our moon just brings up so many “but wait…” thoughts. That's really the rub, isn't it How much better would some stories be if they weren't on Earth, but somewhere in the local quarry with some alien set dressing or people wearing silly hats?

We have chosen to start with Doctor Who, as it is a joint content priority for both BBC Public Service UK and BBC Studios marketing teams. There’s a rich variety of content in the Whoniverse collection on iPlayer to test and learn with, and Doctor Who thematically lends itself to AI which is a bonus.

The Giggle novel is about as surreal as you can get with a novel written by the Toymaker - you get to poke through the president of the US's brain, Kate Lethbridge-Stewart does the Eyes emoji, and there's an entire CYOA section with the corridors... quote:Down came planets and stars and comets. The planets bounced and then fell still. Some shattered like baubles. Some rolled away never to be seen again. Not a bad representation of the Flux - a celestial hurricane that had devasted half this miserable universe. I'm glad the novels can have that kind of fun - we even get a little scene of the Fourth Doctor picking up little Kate because her father was busy saving the world

They’ve always loved the ‘old girl’ for the way she’s gone looking for trouble anywhere in the universe. The Doctor says they stole the TARDIS from Gallifrey. The TARDIS disagrees…she stole them. It hasn’t always taken the Doctor where they want to go, but it’s made sure to take them where they needed to be. Vinylshadow fucked around with this message at 05:38 on Mar 21, 2024 |

https://ew.com/doctor-who-ncuti-gatwa-cover-story-8633590 https://twitter.com/EW/status/1780325519432577400 quote:The show had its writer; now, it needed its Doctor. Davies says he searched the galaxy, auditioning men, women, and nonbinary actors from “all sorts of diverse backgrounds.” Gatwa was the very last actor to read, and his involvement came with a sort of serendipity: Just one week earlier, unprompted, he had texted his agent to say that he’d like to tackle a project like Doctor Who someday. When he heard the show was actually casting, he threw himself into research, locking himself in his house and rewatching as much of the revival series as he could. From about 6 in the morning until 6 at night, he binged every episode of Eccleston’s and Tennant’s runs, paying particular attention to Davies’ signature blend of heart, humor, and sci-fi thrills. “I just fell in love with it,” Gatwa explains. “It was so easy to put my phone in airplane mode and just not reply to anyone because this show was taking all my attention.”
