The thing about linear television is that nobody knows how to have a steady revenue anymore in television. The term "drunken sailor spending" has been bandied about, and that was a definite problem that's being over-corrected. We simply have too many options, and you can only slice a pie so thin.

They just never bothered to sell it to their advertisers like cord-cutting was going to magically reverse itself or something. Hulu was dead the moment the Walt Disney Company announced they were buying 21st Century Fox.

The first season of WITWICS was immediately obsolete due to the dissolution of the Soviet Union and breakup of Yugoslavia impacting European maps. Guess that beats writing stuff down like they did years ago. Also makes it so you can't cheat, although I don't know why you would.
