I thought Fortitude wasn't well received around here because it jumped the shark at some point. I don't think I ever finished S1.

For a coulda-been-great film set in a very cold place, check out Smilla's Sense Of Snow. The first part is very good but the second half feels like a completely different movie.

I can't believe La Brea is still on, 3rd season I think. I watched a few early episodes and it was pretty goofy! It just boggles my mind that is still on but we can't have nice things like more Wayne or Raised By Wolves.

Also, how is Wayward Pines? The first few episodes are alright. Is it worth the time?

...The sister episode I previously finished was kinda boring/felt like forced exposition though.

hell yeah The 100 is very good and fun and the body count gets crazy. lookin at you, Genghis Clarke :black101:

Finished Halt and Catch Fire, and the final season was just sublime. I must confess that I didn't quite get the hype through the first three seasons, but they pulled everything together in the end. Some of the most moving TV I've ever watched.

Also, the music cue in this scene is incredible. Why isn't this a meme?

Hell yeah, glad you liked it.

It's awesome that every couple of months we get someone posting about seeing it for the first time, and the reaction is almost always very positive.

It's so, so good.

I keep thinking about the final few episodes. Both genuinely epic in tone, in the old school mythological sense, and also so ludictously batshit that I couldn't help but laugh.

Really looking forward to Netflix's upcoming KAOS, hope that it lives up to that title and the casting.

I'm rewatching RbW and I'm only halfway through S1 and it's good and werd, but I'm looking forward to S2 for all the truly nutty poo poo.

I hadn't heard of KAOS but that looks cool.

Sell me on Fortitude. I'm almost at the end of S1. Does it get better or go places?

Louis Gossett Jr died last night. 87 years old. :(

I'm glad he got an Oscar for An Officer And A Gentleman.

I liked the first Iron Eagle as a kid, and Enemy Mine was good too.

I've enjoyed the first 2 episodes of Sugar. I can watch Colin Farrel in anything.

What I'm really digging though, after waiting way too long to start it, is Resident Alien. I can't imagine anyone but Alan Tudyk in the role of Harry, he's fantastic. I'm only 3 episodes in and it's extremely my poo poo.

Finished S1 of Resident Alien. I haven't been this enamored with a show in a while. It's super funny and has a lot of heart. Alan Tudyk is so good it hurts.

Lots of great characters combos - Liv and Big Black, D'Arcy and Judy, the kids and Harry.

I thought the finale was a bit weak with Harry and Atsa at the end but overall it was a great first season. I'm glad I have S2 and S3 to blaze through.

I'm pretty sure i spotted Sarah Tomko (Atsa) in a pharmaceutical commercial!

GoT too, I guess

But when I think of great cinematography the first things that come to mind have already been mentioned - Hannibal and Mr Robot

oh! and Rectify! The first season of Rectify especially, hell yeah.

Yeah, this episode is the GOAT but the one that got me started watching was the Kevin "My teeth are sweating!" Hart episode. The one with Tyra "I want my mama" Banks was good. Stone Cold "I need to check my heart rate" Steve Austin, also.

For episodes where the guest doesn't freak out, Rachel Ray, Charlize Theron, and Halle Berry are good choices.

Man, what I would give for an Anthony Bourdain episode....

"Careful 'round the eyes" should be the show's tagline.

I think he's a good host. He does deep research to come up with questions that often legit surprise the guest in a fun, charming way. He mirrors whatever the guest is going through while enduring the wings. And he uses his hands a lot when he's talking.

Also aren't most of the major characters dead by the end of the series? There really aren't that many stories to pick up. Like the best idea would be a reboot in spirit where you tell similar stories with new characters.

I know Beecher and O'Reilly are still alive at the end but I'm not sure about any others.
