Only Connect is great. I watch it every time I go home to visit my mum so I’m always behind but then we binge a ton. Victoria is an amazing host and it’s fun when you actually get one right. Plus I’m really good at the missing vowels round at the end.

Sounds like someone’s forgetting about Cyberpunk 2077’s prestige TV drama Watson Whore!!! Because a show about a sex worker is something that could only exist in a dystopian cyberpunk reality, and not, like, two decades ago.

God, I’m gonna miss Minx. I liked that show a hell of a lot. American Born Chinese was super mid though so w/e

I named my Baldur’s Gate 3 character Bambi after Bambi from Minx because I played it while s2 was airing. I understand it’s also the name of some cartoon horse or something ofc

I hope it’s a different “section” almost. If not I’ll probably end up making another account just for TV lol

Casino Royale owns yeah. Easily my personal favourite Bond, although it’s not a franchise I really have any attachment to.

Dever is truly one of the best young actresses we got, I believe she can nail this role even if she doesn’t really “look” right for it

Netflix had more good shows in 2023 than in any other recent year I can think of. Can’t speak to the movies, though. I ended up rewatching Mr. Robot instead of Leave the World Behind after everyone poo poo on it

Loved it but also recognise that a lot of people will not and will have some valid complaints lmao

Boston Legal did that once, using a movie/show with young William Shatner playing a lawyer as a flashback to young Denny Crane early in his career

I have watched three episodes of Ted so far. Didn’t think much of the first or third, but the second was a lot of fun, and honestly even the bad ones have some good jokes. I really didn’t expect to like this at all, but y’know, it’s pretty okay!

Literally never thought of it as a comedy. It’s a good crime drama thing but not as creepy/supernatural as True Detective. The character work is better than the investigation side imo

I honestly think Seinfeld is as close as a sitcom can come to evergreen. So much of it is about classic pettiness and tiny everyday nonsense that it’ll remain hashtag relatable for a very long time.

Don’t Ridiculousness do a ton of episodes a year? Seems fair to me, it may be a dumb show but there are still real people doing a lot of writing for it

The Nazi side is mostly very much in the background for the first three seasons and only comes to the forefront in the fourth (which, again, is much worse than the previous ones). It’s mostly a fun as hell noir Weimar Republic/expressionist thing

Khanstant posted:Wow I just kind of figured he was too high level to go back to the role. It seems like a lot of the reason he left in the first place was because he was afraid of being pigeonholed. Now he’s a massive success over several mediums and has the freedom to do whatever he wants, so he probably feels better about going back and doing something like that.

Yeah I really liked the first Mr. & Mrs. Smith episode. Not quite as comedy-focused as I expected, although still often very funny, and a lot of genuine heart. Will be binging that one over the next day or two.
