My mother has this snowblower - https://www.troybilt.com/en_US/two-stage-snow-blowers/storm-3090-snow-blower/31AH5DP5B66.html It's about 13 years old at this point, but has been well maintained generally & stored properly.

Because it didn't snow much last year, it got barely used so there's presumably 2ish year old gas in it from 2022, but she'd put Sta-Bil in it at the end of last year. This year she didn't think to try starting it before it actually snowed, and they've just gotten 12+ inches of fluffy snow and naturally it won't start. She's trying the electric start rather than the pull cord since she's 76, and it sounds like it almost catches but just won't keep turning over. She's primed it with the little bulb

Any suggestions on additives she could dump into it or if getting some younger person to come pull the cord might do a better job of getting it started than the electric starter? Otherwise it's probably going to have to go to the snowblower maintenance shop which is presumably going to be extremely busy now that the storm has arrived.

Cool, if she can't get it going tomorrow I'll suggest these options before she calls the service shop, she's got a 45ish year old guy down the street who helps with trees that need to come down/get hauled out who can come tip it over for her/pull the cord/spray some carb cleaner in.

Thanks dudes.

My mother got the thing started herself after I sent her a youtube for that specific model of Troy-Bilt. Fine work, mom. :toot:

Just in time too as they're getting hit with another couple days of snow/wind.

I'm outside at the corner waiting for the weed delivery guy (I had $40 of promotional gift money to spend or I'd have just gone to the dispensary) who was now 3+ hours late due to some glitch in their system... I saw a doordash person cluelessly trying to find an address on a street that has no addresses on it, I'm on the phone dealing with the weed delivery service's support chat when I hear something drop across the street. By the time I looked up a couple minutes later, the doordasher is nowhere to be seen/had gone around to the other side of the block or something.

I stood there for 5 minutes while the weed dude arrived, and the doordash guy never came back. So that's the story of how I got a chicken shish kebab plate that I found in the road

Yeah there is. There's no STORY, but you can go Spread Democracy on any planet you want solo and just turn the difficulty down so you don't get overwhelmed. Difficulty seems to just bring more enemies, not make things take or do more damage. It is 100% PvE and a lot of fun even with randos.

Also I'm playing it on the PC, missed the first one completely.

The physics are exactly like every other relatively realistic shooter game in the last 15 years, and I'm not sure why you think it's preferable or even possible to as fully bring the freedom the unruly galaxy yearns for without a cool cape.

On top of looking awesome while blowing in the wind of your Star Destroyer's AC system, a cape slot also provides additional things for you to buy with your War Medals and Requisition Slips that you will earn from delivering violence-based peace and democracy to the far reaches of space, and presumably will have individual bonuses/stats like the other armor items have once you get later into the leveling system.

There's also some pretty amusing combinations of things you can name your ship (everyone has their own Star Destroyer, listed in the top left corner.) One of my friends pilots the Legislator of Individual Morality.
Tell me your democracy levels aren't rising just by looking upon these ensembles. The voice acting is amazing, the music is outstanding, and everything about the propaganda vibe efforts are 100% top notch.

I'm on a discord with a bunch of game industry professionals and the last time *everybody* was playing a single game at this rate was PUBG when it first came out. For the first time in ages none of them are connected to the current hot game at all. Miss it at your peril!

Anyone ever buy this Lego clone brand? https://decadastore.com/products/cada-mercedes-amg-one-c61503w

They're licensed with Mercedes Benz so the quality must be fairly solid, and most reviews seem to suggest it's on par with the quality of Lego Technics stuff. I've got the Lego Porsche GT3 RS and have a spare matching shelf next to it, I don't really love the other three 1/8ths car models available from Lego, and their color scheme doesn't match the room this would live in so I'm trying to find something the same size & fun building level but not from that line.

What happened is Reaganism and Thatcherism ended social programs for mental illness and drug addiction. Those carefully curated videos of a 2 block radius of drug users in inner city areas you'd have to literally go out of your way to find and travel to in order to make stupid videos are the result of the childish thinking those philosophies are built on, which results in the "social decay" that is actually the end stage of drug addiction.

Providing help for these people years before they reach this stage would be easier, cheaper, and better for everyone in society - but then the desired level of state-sanctioned cruelty would not be achieved and conservative politicians would have no platform to run on.

Just watched the movie "two lane black top" starring James Taylor and Dennis Wilson. Thought it was good but kinda weird at the same time. I've heard it described as "easy rider but with no drugs, and cars instead of motorcycles".

Dennis Wilson is also the beach boy who was in thrall to Charles Manson because Manson brought him 14 year old girls to have sex with. James Taylor sang Carole King's "You've Got a Friend" and made it somehow more treacly, it's up to the listener to decide who is actually worse.

I've wanted one for a long time, as well. I had looked into it before, but it was daunting (and expensive) buying all the bits and pieces. I didn't know there were ready-to-go kits.

Last I knew, home stills were illegal, straight away. So I was surprised when I found them on Amazon, especially for a super cheap price. I told my wife "Amazon just doesn't even care anymore, they'll sell anything..."

I got this: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BW3FQZLT and $100 for an 8 gallon still seems crazy.

Build quality seems reasonable, metal is nicely polished, latches seem secure. First vinegar run was dead clear with no contaminants washed out of the pipes, I'm kinda impressed.

But then I looked and... Ohio is one of like 5 states where home stills are legal. Can't be living the illegal moonshine dream, but can live the legit moonshine dream.

Looks like a fun little project. Always was interested by the rig that Hawkeye & Trapper John had in the Swamp (none of these look like they'd actually work very well but hey)
