I'll agree it'll feel like a weird dead end if it just goes back to Naito. To me the obvious answer is to put it on a new guy without wasting that guy getting a win over Naito. Then Naito can win the G1 again, you do the new top guy beating the old timer to retain at the Dome.

Hopefully tonights show does better since it's a series of singles matches. That being said, it's all Junior vs Heavyweight matches so I would be very surprised if Hiromu beats Finlay or Drilla beats Naito. That being said, BUSHI beating Gabe would lead to a very entertaining tantrum

I mentioned it in the joshi thread For the moment I'd suspect it's a corporate restructure to mostly cut what bushiroad might see as waste between the two promotions.
