I find it highly unlikely though not impossible that Trump wins. It's obvious enthusiasm for him is very low except by his ever shrinking base. And I know Biden isn't doing much better in the way of enthusiasm but with the overturning of Roe v Wade there is enough enthusiasm to stop Republicans that I think the fact that Trump is just running on a platform of revenge and not policy that there is no chance he gets the votes necessary to win. What I'm really looking forward to is him winning the nomination and then being sent to prison before the election which would be devastating for Republicans nationwide. They really are stuck between a rock and a hard place because Trump will likely win the nomination but they could at the convention choose someone else if he is imprisoned and the hell that would break loose from that would be insane. These fuckers deserve this I hope they are devastated electorally for the next 20 to 30 years.

For anyone in the thread concerned about the United States military somehow turning against the federal government and the President. Don't worry, they've thought of that scenario. The government has put so much goddamn money into research and testing to make drat sure that every soldier they turn out doesn't turn against them. The entire chain of command and the entire basis for how the military operates is specifically designed so that there is no way they could organize or would want to organize against the country or the president. Not saying they don't turn out some crazy people but there's just no logistical way it could happen.

When looking at these polls I would like to remind everyone that every indication showed that 2022 was going to be an absolute blowout win for Republicans and yet they lost big to an incumbent who had a sub 50 approval rating during an economic downturn. That is insane and basically takes work to accomplish. Basically what I'm saying is even if Biden is less popular and even if the economy is not great he probably has a great chance at winning reelection because Republicans really are that bad at reading the room and Trump has done nothing to gain the independents and undecideds he needs to win. And if Trump is the Republican nominee and in prison prior to November it will be an absolute devastating blow to Republicans nationwide and you're going to see some absolutely ridiculous democrat victories in areas you wouldn't even imagine it possible. I bet Texas actually goes blue.

For a long time craps tables didn't have 12 as a push for the don't pass so if you bet both the past and the don't pass you basically could never lose you wouldn't win but it was one way to keep getting the free drinks that came around while you played they used to call it the beer bet for that reason but now you can't break even each time.

I'm trying to come up with a scenario in my head where Trump has any shot in hell of winning and I just can't do it. Even if it's a lower turnout election that will probably hurt Trump more. He has done nothing to gain undecided voters he has no policies or plans and quite frankly I think people are just kind of tired of him as weird as it is to say Biden being boring as poo poo is probably working to his benefit as people remember having to wake up each day with Trump as president stressing over if this was the day he was going to start world war 3. This divide in the Republican party is killing them. I'm going to say that if Trump is found guilty of anything whether or not he sees prison he will have no chance of winning the election. Even being a convicted felon may not turn a lot of Republican voters but it will turn some and it will probably be enough with how razor thin the margins are for him. Biden has a strong economy and no major scandals and his incumbency working for him and I think that's enough for him to be either Haley or Trump. Basically what I'm saying is it's far too early to say anything but I just don't feel like there is any path for Trump to succeed here. The closest I can think of is Biden dying in October or some massive economic downturn but that's about it. poo poo even the economic downturn may not matter because we had one in 2022 and look how that turned out in the midterms.

So Trump is now basically begging Biden for a debate ever since the immunity deal was shot down because he now realizes that he has to absolutely win the election to stay out of prison. He realizes he is down with independents and key demographics that he will need to win the election it's funny to me that he won't debate Nikki Haley though because he knows that she would out debate him. I also like how it's funny that Biden is dismissing it for now claiming that Trump has nothing better to do. If I were Biden I would just say it's beneath me to debate a sex offender just to set the chuds off.

I really really hope that Trump ends up being the Republican nominee. Biden an already beat him once has the advantage of the incumbency has the advantage of a good economy that doesn't look like it will downturn in the next 7 months though nothing is guaranteed. Trump is behind with independents and several key demographics he needs to win, is going to be seen in court for pretty much the entire campaign which will also keep him from campaigning and if he is found guilty of insurrection that will significantly factor into people's voting decision, because even if Trump's sycophants will ride or die a felon president is a devastating look and will affect down ballot candidates. Nikki Haley despite her dumb thoughts on LGBTQIA and the civil war would probably fare better against Biden though I still think he could beat her. And in estimations based on lower turnout or low enthusiasm for either candidate Biden still wins. I think the funniest and the best option is for Trump to take the nomination and as early as possible to put the most strain on Republicans especially if he is found guilty or even more funny imprisoned. I would have been massively surprised if they ruled against Trump on this and to be honest I'm kind of glad they didn't. There are paths for Trump to win but man he's going to do everything in his power to sabotage that. If I was Biden I would feel pretty confident right now and so far it seems like he is.
