My family had just moved to a shiny new suburban house and we had cable TV and a stereo with a CD player for the first time. I didn't really know what I liked music-wise until I saw the videos for Unforgiven and One on MTV. I treated my first CDs like incredibly fragile future tech and would gingerly place them in the tray with both hands each time.

I clearly remember mine, I got my first player and the CD was the Joyride album by Roxette. I still listen to tracks from that album daily, but the disc itself is long lost at this point.
