not to be bleak, but. childhood friend was a 'genesis kid' and grew up to be a narcissistic and violent alcoholic. one of my cousins was a 'genesis kid' and grew up to be a sex offender. grade school classmate was a 'genesis kid' and took his own life shortly after being kicked out of boot camp. as they say, one is an anomaly, two is a coincidence, three is a pattern. there are a few good games on the system but it's honestly not worth the risk. Sonic 2 was pretty good.

Genesis was kinda cool because it was the last time where 1:1 ports didn't really exist so you'd end up with two completely different games for each system (Castlevania/Contra) or games that claimed to be the same but clearly weren't (those Disney movie games). lol at the thought of actually having a Genesis as a kid though. South American coded. ----------------

But if you had to pick one, it would be SNES for the controller, music, graphics, and everything else besides a blood code. All MKs have much better ports on SNES. They also aren't that good compared to the arcade anyway.

The Genesis was generally shittier than the SNES but stuff like Light Crusader was decent. People talked about it being the system of choice for sports games but we made out just fine on the SNES so idgi The Sega CD was 99% pure fuckin trash but it did have a cool port of Snatcher that is apparently cursed to never leave the system
