Nope. This game, and the other games by this studio that I'm familiar with all trend towards frantic gameplay, so its an intentional design element.

Lasercannon fits my load out vs bugs, alongside my autoshotgun. I use it to melt oncoming hordes and save my primary ammo for the big boys.

Laser seems worthless against bots though
