i remember watching clerks, dogma, chasing amy, and mall rats with a certain group of friends in high school back around y2k and at the time not agreeing with those friends that the films were so clever and funny, but always just assumed there was something i was missing like i wasn't refined or worldly enough to get it or something. glad to see with adult eyes that these films really were just that dumb

i have seen up to clerks 2 and tusk and red state and i found things to like in all of his films even if he can be kind of a twat sometimes, he is also one of the people who seems the most genuinely excited to meet his heroes when he gets to for his podcast and i know id be the exact same way lol

Maybe not on the level of like Henry Rollins or Anthony Bourdain  , but it's a skill he has.
