I've always enjoyed how the characters trade off the role of "bad guy/wrong" or "good guy/correct" to match the plot demands. It's funny, and adds to the fact that they are all inconsistent and petty.

Seeing the tip fall into the toilet might have been my biggest "oh my God, oh my God, that's so awful" reaction of the whole series.

it didn’t click for me until now that the money was supposed to be tip. I thought he just had to take it out of his trousers before cleaning them and didn’t notice :cripes:

It doesn't really matter whether it was supposed to be the tip, though. What matters is knowing the housekeeper is going to perceive it as him leaving her tip in the toilet, after their earlier interaction, which is awful.

now I’m thinking too far into this setup but apparently larry would rather wear tacky glasses to a function than briefly stick his hand into a clean toilet. hes wearing his regular glasses at the end of the episode so he fished them out himself after the housekeeper threw him the gloves and they’re taut enough to wear without slipping unless he’s looking straight down (into a toilet). he had the time to rinse and dry his regular pair so he was rocking the auntie specs just cause

as mentioned by others the writing for this episode felt slack with things not really going anywhere like the siri bit, the cake bit, the concierge escort, etc., as well as the big episode-ending joke being a trump mugshot parody. not saying it isn’t funny but it really seems underbaked even compared to season 11. there are some strange editing choices, probably informed by the strike. apparently they initially wrapped filming in march 2023 and the trump mugshot was august 2023 so they’ve definitely taken the extra time to tweak things

that does increase the chances that the series ends with larry and leon on a flight to tel aviv, looking to occupy some rear end at a rave in re’im

ulvir
Jan 2, 2005

that he decided to wear them again is actually the strangest part of that whole episode. I would personally burn anything that fell into a toilet without question myself, much like seinfeld and larry of earlier seasons. (no toilet is ever “clean”, they’re just not visibly disgusting :colbert:)

Not a very good episode but as someone with UC the public bathroom thing is very relatable. Never run into that issue in retail specifically but food places where you need a code are a different story.

counterpoint: Susie is actually the protagonist of the entire series, beset at all times by the idiocy of Jeff and Larry and simply wishing to have a normal life without the two of them causing a scene or embroiling her in whatever dumbass thing they're up to

Hahah. Yeah, my enjoyment of Susie as a character went up roughly 10,000% when I realized that most of her scenes in the show are Susie correctly sussing out that Jeff and Larry are up to some bullshit again and that she's fully justified to scream at Larry because he's done this 982439823489 times before and will do it 8948923489 times again. Larry fully deserves everything she's ever said to him; Susie is the arbiter of justice for LD.

Yeah I thought this was a much better episode, got a few good laughs out of me.
Thinking about it and maybe I just don't enjoy the "old man mad at thing" bits as much, generally.

Anyway what was the deal with how Larry uh shaked/waved in the bathroom? Happened twice this episode and I'm wondering if I'm missing some context.

Another one of those vaguely funny ideas he needs to get out there without any sort of payoff. Larry is a hygiene freak to the extent that he's trying to soap the entire bathroom. That's the whole joke.
