Have you ever tried butter with bread? It's really good. Of course you need a butter knife to spread it onto the bread.

i wanted bread yesterday, so i went to the co-op, got a few pounds of bread flour. when i got home i found a nice recipe for a peasant bread, made that a few hours later. then i had a delicious grilled cheese with the freshly baked bread, with a bit of charcuterie and some fig jam

ive been keeping a sourdough starter alive for quite a while, really nice to have a fresh boule of it every two weeks or so, then make bread pudding if not eating enough before it gets stale also homemade sourdough pizza crust

I used to be all about spreadable butter, but since I got a butter box (to keep it outside of the fridge), I'm never going back. Real salted butter is just so much nicer on toast etc.
