Hackers 100% Mean Girls is...confusing to me as a nostalgic property. The movie is real critical of women's social hierarchies while not examining how the gently caress that might be. The main thesis of the movie is, 'Women, we're doing it to ourselves', which is a very 00s sentiment Tina Fey wrote it when she was at her strongest as a white feminism elemental and it shows

Hackers hit just that right cult classic vibe without being edgy, and keeps getting rediscovered as society becomes nerdier. I'm realizing it's probably one of the movies I've seen the most, since I don't rewatch films that often and other people throw it on all the time. It's Matrix without the trenchcoats, action, or attempt to be serious.
