He knows nothing about any other kind of music or even the names of any modern musicians. You mention any name or song title more recent than Carmina Burana, he doesn't know what it is. And even Carmina Burana is a coinflip.

You have no idea how growing up with a man like that as a parent has hosed with my brain.

Did you listen to other music growing up, or was it forbidden in the house? What does your dad say or so if he hears contemporary music on a radio, etc? Does your mom have weird music habits? Siblings?
