Across the board only 8 Teams get an A or B grade. Teams that get good family grades offer a family room of sorts on gameday and provide daycare on gamedays.

Patriots do neither! Which is crazy.

The Patriots one makes more sense when you consider the lengths Brady went to in order to avoid spending more time with his family :v:

I'm sure there's an obvious instance I'm not thinking of but has a team ever lost the #1 overall pick to a previous year's trade before? I know the Texans gave up what ended up being #3 overall for Tunsil but that's the highest I can think of

Completely new uniforms. It's going to be "H-Town Blue" apparently which I assume will mean coming as close to the Oilers look as they're allowed

Maybe he only planned to play ten years from the beginning or maybe he looked at the Rams and looked around the league and didn't think a second ring was likely any time soon

Getting out rich with a ring while he's still healthy could be a priority for him, or even he has a lot of pain we don't know about

JJ is the last defensive player I can remember coming close and he finished behind Rodgers. 20.5 sacks, 29 TFL, 3 TD catches as a TE, a pick six and 10 pass defenses. Finished second by a ton. Can't compete with a QB who has a big year

e: Is LT the last defensive player to win it or has there been one since him?

e2: he is and as I was digging through I forgot about the kicker win during the strike season lol

Mark Moseley in the 9-game 1982 season is weird, because he got 35 votes to beat Dan Fouts' 33. Marcus Allen, Joe Theisman, and Danny White got the remaining votes. Moseley had a very good season, particularly by the kicking standards of the era, including a few clutch kicks and a few games where he scored most of their points, and they finished with the best record at 8-1. That said, Fouts was on pace for over 5000 yards and his leading receiver, Wes Chandler, set a record that still stands by averaging 129 yards per game and was on pace for 2000~ and didn't get a single vote, which is typical for wide receivers. I'll just assume the voters were all delusional after the strike shut the season down for 2 months.

I just assumed they were spite votes. how dare you players strike, gently caress you we'll give it to a kicker

The whole thing with the Texans is that they have the incredible fortune of possessing a top 5 QB in the second year of his rookie deal. What good is that if you don't use the cap space?

That's why I wanted them to splurge on like Saquon or Jacobs or when Jones became available then him

I agree and I think even from a strictly on-field perspective he's been marginally overrated.

But if you don't care about him being a POS and your assessment of him as a player matches the general consensus, the contract itself is fine. It's not really that burdensome.

I used to get mad at the Texans are never wanting to sign anyone but character guys but I meant they should sign more weed guys, not guys like Mixon
