They may just have sent the wrong screws, or you are supposed to screw in an interposer fastener. The hyper 212 for example, makes you add custom screws first that fit into the backplate, and then you screw the cooler into them. Take some photos maybe? Any manual(s) with the cooler should have explicit instructions. Maybe post that? Is there a bag of unknown screws that you missed? Check the packaging?

lol. At least support told you one useful thing. Any hope getting the right screws? Yeah, so even though the 2011 pattern was out for a long time, I think I encountered about a 2% spawn rate in real life (I think I had maybe 15 boards ever (in 12 years)). Sorta makes sense that pattern's screws aren't included with everything. (to give them reasonable doubt) Still, sweet system, chip, price, and always impressive power. Really get to use all the capabilities of the platform. I love how many sticks of ram you can stuff in x99 boards for instance.
