i "upgraded" from a 5900x to a 5800x3d because all i do on my pc is play video games and it was a good decision. maybe you should have coughed up a bit more for the 5950x

5900x's are not sad lmfao. learn2undervolt also you dont want a threadripper. my epyc puts up some amazing numbers but it is poo poo of the dog at video game

i think the 5900x is probably "sad" when trying to do blender animations which echi seems to be doing. still ain't a bad cpu in general though

joking btw i’m actually pretty drat content with it, that combined with 3060ti gives me a whole bunch of compute for my renderings without getting a new mobo the only upgrade would be to the 5950 which isn’t worth it possibly what would be worth it would be trading in my 64gb of quite ordinary ram for 32 of something better than 3200mhz it’s like the computer is afraid to use more than 32gb honestly I don’t think Ive seen it more than once which was when I tried to render a 4k image at 1000% resolution lol

undervolting is finding the point where the cpu performs at it's maximum boost with the lowest amount of electrical power. it can be use to either improve efficiency or combined with an overclock to get better performance at stock power draw
