I like putting together little guys and I wanna make my bases feel like little dioramas. You should look at my bases and think "it makes sense that a little skeleton lives there thank you"

Maybe like a dark blue base coat with stoney gray layers? I tried that with my stone giant frameworks mini before I got good enough to make it work.

You did because after you said that I went and added it! :hfive:

It's a butchered version of the way Louise Sugden shows how to do it on WH+ Masterclass but basically it:

30% Doombull Brown 70% Bloodreaver Flesh basecoat
Progressively more Doombull added to the base to the recesses and shadowed areas
Thinned Rhinox Hide to shadowed areas
Glazes of Word Bearers Red to add spot warmth (like to cheeks, lips/mouth, nose)
Rhinox and Abaddon Black 1:1 around eyes and for the pupils -- Pallid Wych for the scleras and teef
Basecoat to raised areas for highlighting
10% XV-88 + 90% Basecoat to smaller raised areas
30% Karak Stone + 70% Basecoast for more highlight
Then pure Karak for spots

That tattoo is so rad

Would nail decals work on miniatures? I think I'm gonna commit to a really silly idea but if that wouldn't work I would have to reconsider.

Edit: I dunno why I'm being coy with it. I got the grimghast reapers on the cheap and they look like they are wearing sunglasses and wearing oversized jerseys

It might be a problem since they're designed to go onto a flat surface.

But if it's for Blood Bowl, please at least try once.

It's be for my AOS guys (once I learn how to play it). I didn't even think about the flat surfaces part of it.

Edit: nails aren't flat????

The Tamiya plastic cement is a game changer compared to the Citadel glue I've been using. Unfortunately it smells like gasoline and requires double container storage, but its so easy to use and I've yet to have any of that annoying stringy residue found with the Citadel brand.

it's stinky but not two container stinky

keep it as is, or do the same technique. it gives it a scrat scrobbled quality befitting of a goblin, imo

Yep, that's the one; appreciated the ideas at least. I don't know that I'm good matching colors by eye (even most of my mixing abilities have been "add varying amounts of white to get highlighting colors").

By that logic, probably going to be Army Painter since that and GW are the main ones my FLGS carries and I'm a little down on GW (the pots were a pain even when I still used it, dropper bottles seem much easier to work with if I keep the tips clean well enough).

Wound up going here for the matches to finish my projects, you're right they look pretty drat close at least. I also have gotten them before for different colors and the bottles are definitely better sealed (still have them OK from my old paints). Loved their Enchanted Green metallic, even though I don't think I ever did it justice with my skills:
