He was expected to make an initial court appearance on Tuesday. The indictment accuses Slater of giving classified material by email and online messages about the Russia-Ukraine war to someone claiming to be a woman living in Ukraine. If you are 63 and a "hot 22 year old" starts coming on to you, you should be at least a little suspicious

To go into sports analogies, Manchin has a incredibly high left wing WAR (wins above replacement) despite still being a jerk, because his average replacement is that much worse.

OddObserver posted:"Good economy" is in fact based on reality for most people, and the fact that Biden actually followed left-wing policies made a huge difference. It reminds me of a post where a NYC liberal was complaining about how everything has gotten worse comparing early Trump admin (2016) to the Biden admin now. But every single one of their complaints was actually VC lifestyle subsidy rather than something Biden did. Stuff like "Ubers used to be so much cheaper" (because VC dollars allowed them to make negative profit with every ride in their attempt to gain monopoly), no fees on delivery apps (because VC dollars allowed them to make negative profit in their attempt to gain monopoly), and online sales lasted long enough reach them and could be 90% off at times (because VC dollars allowed them to make negative profit in their attempt to gain monopoly).

OddObserver posted:Except real wage data suggests that upper middle class (particularly tech!) is doing worse and lower tier is actually showing improvement for the first time in many decades. A huge part of it is the end of good, experienced lower management for a lot of food service and retail places. Think of it like this, pre-pandemic moving from min-wage fast food/supermarket/hardware store worker to department assistant manager at those places gave +$3/hr in return for having longer hours, having to response to every karen's complaints, needing to learn how to actually work everything in the department, needing to teach the new minimum wage workers, needing to cover for everyone, and trying to get unmotivated (and unmotivated for very good reasons) min-wage workers to do things. It's a miserable trade off and there is a low chance to get a further promotion to the actual good jobs in the company. But a lot of capable people still did the jobs because they felt they had no better option pre-pandemic. Now post-pandemic, they realized they didn't have to put up with this and could demand that either the company pays them what their skills are worth, or they will leave for an industry that will. The actual lower 50% saw huge gains from these types of people moving out of dead-end assistant retail store manager to higher paid and more respected industry.

https://www.washingtonpost.com/national-security/2024/03/21/discord-classified-documents-boogaloo-alaska/ Yet another Air Force analyst was caught sharing classified information on right wing racist Discord server. But it turns out that was just the tip of the iceberg. When the Feds came for him, they found his laptop stuffed top to bottom with disgusting amounts of child porn.
