The other fun thing is that GM used one of three different belt drive systems on the early LSx. Corvettes have the one with the belt as close to the block as possible; trucks have it spaced much further out. As far as I know those spacings are still used on modern LTx engines.

The third belt spacing is in between the other two, and is only used (in the US) by the '98-'02 F-body and the '04-06 GTO. So a '98-'02 F-body compressor should probably bolt up in place and align right on the belt, but the ports come straight out the back.
