Still haven't changed the clock in my car, not really in the mood. Everyone seems fed up with it at this point, would be awesome if they actually repealed it but I doubt that's happening.

They did this in the 70s and everyone hated it so they brought it back.

They did permanent DST in the 70s rather than permanent standard time, which meant that in the winter the sun wasn’t rising until like 9 am

Permanent standard is probably a much easier way to go, you lose the super late sunsets in the summer but those are easier to give up than having super late sunrises in the winter

All clocks are digital now so just smear the extra hour out 1 second at a time.

this would kinda rule. Day is 12 hours, 7am to 7pm every day of the year and daytimes just move a lil slower in summer

that also means in summer I have a six-minute mile

i'm pretty tired this week but it's worth it. also i'm on CST but work on PST so having more light later in the day is even better

I mean personally I wouldn’t mind post 9am sunrises in December if it meant the sun wasn’t setting at 4pm but that specifically was what people hated about it and the earlier sunrise in the middle of summer would probably be less noticeable in general

That child totally had it coming. Nobody should be able to be out at dusk except cars.
My car has an electronic compass (lovely) and outside temperature gauge but it doesn't have a clock. It was the fancy Japan only model in the 90s. I knew the lost decade was kinda bad but people just not caring what the time is in an urban society to that extent is wild. Either that or the clock was part of the original head unit.

Some celestial event. No- no words. No words to describe it. Poetry! They should have sent a poet. So beautiful. So beautiful... I had no idea

agreed but I do like that it's still light out when I leave work, I'm willing to compromise and simply make the workday one hour shorter
