Using old gloves would better in some ways than UFC gloves. They're using new ones for every fight, and the gloves are super stiff toward the hands being open instead of closed. A glove that is naturally curved instead of straight would encourage more of a fist than straight fingers when relaxed. A bunch of different orgs use gloves like this and have fewer eyepokes per fight than the UFC.

The UFC has refused to change because they own all the IP for their current gloves whereas with different ones they would have to pay someone else something, which is intolerable to Dana.

Also they don't use pride gloves because Dana hates pride.
