I keep waking up while I sleep. I got tested for sleep apnea and he was like "Yeah you just have really minor sleep apnea" because even though id wake up, i never really stop breathing and my O2 level stayed the same, he said I just wake my rear end up with my own snoring. poo poo sucks!!!

My Spirit Otter posted:if you smoke enough weed, you stop dreaming Thats a per-person basis. I still get crazy rear end dreams. Works for most people tho. I'm not even tired throughout the day, I just hate that first 20 mins of feeling groggy and crap, but I guess thats just normal. I only feel tired during the day if I get like 5 hours or some rear end amount.

Is there a way to get a sleep study done in the UK that doesn’t involve getting a loving GP to take me seriously and not hand me a pamphlet? I feel like death every morning and honestly considering just eating poo poo and buying a cpap machine rather than relying on the nhs.

Same. In my case I know how to fix it: cut way back on caffeine and alcohol. Pretty direct line between how much of that I've had and how many times I wake up in the night. Also a fairly high correlation with stress. But without caffeine and alcohol the stress is worse, and "have less stress in your life" is a lol

i have a good sleep schedule right after ayahuasca for about two months and then i'll wind up staying up to watch a movie or keep my wife company cuz she has school for eternity and then it's immediately hosed up for a while. youtube in bed is the worst for it. so is being guilted about going to bed when she's gotta stay up and be so tired. but i have to make more money and i need to run before work in order to function best so i think i will try to fix my poo poo this weekend and sleep by 10 on sunday

Has anyone used SleepDoctor.com to get a sleep test and cpap machine? It's $189 to get the test and I'm willing to pay because I'm pretty sure apnea is my problem. My GP ordered a test but the provider still hasn't sent it to me and it has been weeks. I don't drink alcohol and I haven't tea in forever and haven't had weed in a couple of weeks and I still only get 4-5 hours of broken sleep. I'm fatigued all the time fuuuuck it sucks. isaboo fucked around with this message at 17:16 on Apr 11, 2024 |

My health monitoring app says I get on average 6 hours 15 minutes per night, so no. I think the older I get the less able I am to sleep a full 8 hours anyways.

I had a sleep study some years back and sleeping in a strange place with wires taped to you and you know someone is watching you all night was weird as hell. Impossible to get comfortable and relaxed enough to sleep properly ime.

Using only myself, my memories growing up with my parents, and now you as a metric - I have to assume this is true for every person as they age. 45 seems to be the point my sleep needs collapsed, however this is also the approximate time I developed an anxiety disorder, so it could be that too.

Some recent data suggests that you can offset some or all of the increased mortality risk from lack of sleep with physical activity. ...you can literally outrun sleep. https://www.bmj.com/company/newsroom/high-physical-activity-levels-may-counter-serious-health-harms-of-poor-sleep/

my sleep app tracks my sleep but also tracks if i've taken my medication, whether i'm having psychotic symptoms, and the phase of the moon. i bet it's more useful than some made up number, bitch

three cheers for doxepin! and uh. day 109 of sobriety. but mostly the doxepin. I only get 5-6 hours, but it feels like 8-9. Or I'll get like 3, wake up and go meal prep or make bread or something for an hour or so, then go back to sleep for two and feel unstoppable. Had trazadone, which definitely helped get to sleep, but staying asleep didn't work so great. Probably have / had sleep apnea, but I've dropped about 40 lbs since I quit drinking. So maybe not? sleep well

anyone else get constant heart rate alerts from fitness trackers when they sleep? i had to turn off all the active heart monitoring on mine because it freaks out when my heart drops to low 30s bpm every night i asked my doctor about it and he just shrugged and said it’s probably ok

my heart rate is actually higher on nights i drink alcohol, more like low 40s, and i do usually feel better rested after. could be related, but i think alcohol also just helps me fall asleep sooner and wake up later which is more important.
