my_custom_username posted:All I remember about TPAB is King Kunta and that one part where he pretends he's talking to 2pac its one of the densest albums ive ever heard like the lyrics are way fast and then there's a bunch of overarching concepts threaded across the tracks and then most of the lyrics have multiple meanings ontop of that if you pay close attention its kinda like doing a wordsearch making all the connections like i don't think another full hip-hop album has had as much effort put into it, the cut songs ended up making the untitled.unmastered mixtape and you can tell those all had tons of time spent on them too imo they're mostly better as individual songs its mostly not a good album for playlists or background music but if you listen to it all in one sitting its way easier to appreciate all the layers to it

selec posted:good morning goons. have spent the last few weeks working like a demon on a mixtape. it's all remixes of stuff i like. here's the last track. happy 4/20, pls smoke to this: i like that sample whatd u make that on feedback if u want: imo the drums too quiet like 1.5dB maybe + beat needs another percussive part, like a steady wood block or clave, something especially when it's just kick -snare bc when the snare leaves the 2 it gets a lurchy feel in a couple spots n kinda drops the beat + some volume/velocity or layering automation to modulate the snare/kick/hats a little id throw in some kinda horn in parts ttoo, like the steve biko opening horn sample kinda timbre itd fit around the vocals and give another rhymic thing but that's just personal taste
