SNL has some funny stuff but this skit specifically is a great example of an annoying style of SNL writing where they interrupt an otherwise comedic parody with unnecessary straight bits. Very reminiscent of the Simpsons' explaining the joke phenomenon.

I believe someone said once that cars are so expensive and the margin on them is so high that it only takes those commercials moving like 30 cars for them to be worth it. It's like when they have ads for private military stuff on the DC subway its in a place where the general public will see it but the general public is not the target audience
