i was like 8 when that song came out, so when i listened recently i was surprised that it was the offspring and wasn't a sincere song about a cool white guy a contemporaneous song that i file in the same place in my head is 'steal my sunshine' by len, which i also spent my life thinking was really lame until i learned they're a brother/sister music duo and now i think it's really lame but also kind of sweet i loving hate this song and it was everywhere for a while https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L3wKzyIN1yk
