W also had that single English word usually repeated multiple times in a really bombastic sort of way. And the concept usually applied in some way to the arc's plot and not just the monster itself.

That's about right. I can remember a lot of Dopants and Zodiarts, but few Yummies or Phantoms. The names really help, even if I did like some of the latters' designs.

Thankfully the story, opening theme, Rider design, and Phillip make up for everything. My friend was over today, he doesn't watch toku, I asked him to watch episode 5 with me and he was like "So the girl and boy join bodies? Does he get tits under the suit?"

Got my legacy Morpher in the mail today...and sadly, the Tyrannosaurus coin won't stay in the morpher  I contacted Toys R Us and Bandai; does anyone have any experience with their customer support? How likely is it that I can get a replacement coin?

Yeah, Toys R Us got back to me and wants me to ship the whole thing back, and then they'll give me a new one. I said "That's dumb, just send me a new T-Rex coin, Failing that, ship me a new one and then I'll ship back the old one." I got to watch SHTZ today. It felt a but too heavily weighted towards the Space Sheriff side, but it definitely benefited from not trying to cram in every hero. The story was less stupid this time around too. With my level of Japanese, there were some details I missed but the jist of why certain heroes were fighting and what was at stake was a clear step up from what's been in many recent shows/films. Not to say it was great, but better than SHT's insanity. It has a fantastic finishing move too. Wizard's 'Dragon Claw' Rider Kick, done by Kyouryuujin... in space. Unfortunately, it does drag on a bit in parts and the best part of many of the latter fight scenes were the introductions/roll calls. The actual choreography lacked creativity considering the characters they chose to include.

I was going to post something about the Green Ranger's powers being destroyed and it making more sense for him to morph into literally any of his other ranger powers, but then I thought better of being That Neckbeard. Edit: At least it looks like they gave him the real shield this time instead of a cruddy fabric knockoff—that always bugged me as a kid.

Really, my only complaint is that it feels like the direction of the main villains in the show was scattered everywhere when we finally start facing them directly. They don't really give much expansion on what they want to do and if I remember right their super bad endgame has like three different meanings to it  Thankfully, the acting on everyone's part is top notch and you can largely ignore the villains even have something resembling an endgame for a while.
