Uh...no. Syrio was Jhaqen all along. He was sent to teach Altairya how to fight and become an assassin from the start. The sounds of death were him killing Trant and then rezzing him out of mercy. I don't care what George said. Who do you believe? A pedo or a guy who writes fan fiction about that pedo's works?

I Own Soulz posted:I still don't believe they organically started discussing Jon's parentage. That's a lead on from a book reader trying to sneak in stuff. It annoys me that ~*~book reader's~*~ hide in those discussions and people don't know (or don't hate on them) because they don't have Wild Cards! Also, Rarity pretending he doesn't know what's coming in the show. I really cannot fathom how that thread is to be a special snowflake where the source material is forbidden to be spoken of, even when speaking about what happened or what was not shown but was in the books a couple seasons prior. There would probably be less people spoiling things there is we could actually have a what happened in the book versus what happened in the show dialogue.

Even with the perspective of having read the entirety of what was written, how does the Tower of Joy spoil anything? Because folks may wonder about Jon more? How is that a bad thing? I mean, is it something the gurm wishes he hadn't written in? You know what would be better to read than Rarity's list of differences? THE SOURCE MATERIAL. Show Rob had an heir on the way before NotJeyne got stabbed in the baby so he wouldn't have had any reason to legitimize Jon. Presumably that will now be something Stannis does in show ADWD when he's trying to get Jon to leave the watch.

I've never been one to consider audio books, but hearing that the person reading it does voices for the characters escalates my desire to never listen to them to untold levels. I'm sure anything with Patchface is utterly cringeworthy.

I think I may have misread something somewhere, I could have sworn that ~Daario~ died in ADWD. I was convinced he was fired from a catapult or something. Then again I did power through the books so I'm probably misremembering.

Barristan says he thinks it'd be better for Dany if Daario died as a captive of Yunkai, but asks the Tattered Lord of the Windblown to save him and as of ADWD, he's alive and will almost definitely get out eventually.
