Mass Effect style Inquisitor game would be the best game ever made of all time. It would be better than a 1000 Ocarinas of Time.

I'm pretty sure that Eternal Crusade was cancelled too. Space Marine was a pretty good game and probably would have been better if THQ was better run. A sequel would probably have been able to fix some of the weaknesses but welp. Space Hulk was pretty disappointing and while it occasionally captured the appeal fo the game the presentation was pretty bad overall. Also it ran really bad for what should be a pretty simple game with not particularly good graphics. Supposedly there's some sort of Apocalpyse/Epic game coming up from some other tiny strategy developer but who knows. OXBALLS DOT COM fucked around with this message at 00:03 on Jan 21, 2014 |

It's pretty easy when you make sure to never let a platoon die and always remember to leave stuff on overwatch where possible. I had great success using armoured columns that would drive a single move and then disembark everyone leaving it a nice knot of Chimeras and IG teams to shoot whatever Ork thing appeared to poo poo.

Chaos Gate just needed to be patched to 1.2 and have its compatibility changed to XP service pack 2 or 3 or whatever. Sadly the game doesn't run flawlessly, cutscenes and music play poorly if at all. But ya can still progress through the levels.

Years ago some goon did a Let's Play of it, and found the original unit editing tools on a yahoo group setup by one of the devs after it all collapsed. I have had a LOT of fun with them by doing stuff like making Space Marines actually not miss all the time and just making "tank Bolters" be regular Heavy Bolters.... and then giving lots of them to Orks. I also figured out how to make new weapons, so Planetary Guard became Tanith First and Only sniper teams. Good times.

I feel like I missed out man. I was vaguely aware of warhammer 40k, but I played DnD predominantly until HS. Videogames were a few FFs, starcraft, EQ and CS. I never played any of that. I had to quit that for sports, and after hs I picked up Warhammer through reading online a little bit of the Lexicanum (spelling) and than buying Eisenhorn on a whim at the bookstore. I literally had no idea about any of the series, the authors or anything. In hindsight, pretty lucky to start with Eis. I pretend my best guys in XCOM get selected for the Astartes program . Or they are Astartes. I need to find some skins.

Epic and BFG are fun games with pretty sane rules that you don't need a billion models to play. So naturally GW hates them and wants them to die. See also Necromunda, Space Hulk, and basically the rest of the specialist games.
