I have the opposite problem. I'm going to be playing through this game with a blind buddy of mine and I think I'll have to pause it once in a while to describe the visuals over what the Narrator's saying. Hope that doesn't break it up too much for him.

There's so many little touches in the subtitles for this game. If any game ought to be played with subtitles, it's this one.

Eh, subtitles still tend to ruin comedic timing. There're some great little touches in TSP's, but they just partly make up for what you're losing. If you need the subtitles anyway, TSP makes it awesome, but otherwise I'd reccomend playing without them, first time through. You can come back for them on a repeat.

I can only play this game for an hour or else motion sickness gets to me. The same thing happened to me when watching a friend play Portal. It's awful

I bought The Stanley Parable on a whim since it was 50% off on Steam this past weekend. Also, something else very spoilery, but I got a big kick out of the Minecraft/Portal ending where you rate the narrator's unfinished game 1/5 two times in a row. The next time I play, I'll see what happens when I give it a 5/5. VVV Gotcha! That makes sense since (spoilered to be safe) some of the endings seem to contradict each other from what I've seen so far. Oddly enough, there was an ending I kind of considered the "real" ending back in the original mod, but they relocated and retooled it such that I really don't think you could call it that anymore. I'm talking about the crusher/"museum" ending. In the original you didn't have the museum bit and you got to it by following the furthest possible fork away from the narrator's intended story, so the female narrator imploring you to end the game and then a black screen that went on until you did was the last thing I saw and felt appropriate as a conclusion. Now it's much closer to the narrator's ending, which meant I didn't run into it last and restarted the game after it instead of exiting, which I would say undermined it a little but actually I'm pretty sure it just reinforced the point. It kinda wrapped the game for me, if you did everything beforehand then got that ending and quit when she asks you to do so. Of course, you can't tie it up for good, but would be my favorite way to do a playthrough if you are going to play only once.

Maybe it's the best ending for Stanley, but I think the best ending for the Player is the "You're Not Stanley After All" ending, where you "break" the game by thinking outside the box, and the game ends with you outside the boundaries of the game space. Stanley remains simply a pawn and you're still you, watching the credits. I think the "Real Ending" is probably the worst ending for the Player, personally. Doubly so if it's the first one they get.
