BARONS CYBER SKULL posted:Yo I'm gonna blow your mind: go check out where the hinges on your doors are. My issue is that the rivets were evenly spaced on the original poster but in the edited version the editor who fixed it neglected to make sure they were evenly spaced again. It's an easy thing to miss, but since the person who made the changes was so careful to get the rest of it right it kinda sticks out like a sore thumb. What on earth is the writing behind the poster? I think its supposed to say "save her" (which is totally superfluous since the poster is actually pretty effective) but there's some extra scribbling that makes it look like Schwarzenegger walked into the media room, saw a poster, signed it, and then the studio thought it was cool and rolled with it. Also I thought that The Last of Us movie wasn't in production yet? Though Breslin is a pretty good choice for Elle, not sure how I feel about Ahnold as Joel.

I think there's a scribbled "maggie" across it too which doesn't help the legibility.

It's weird that they used Cameron Bailey's quote on there when they pulled the film from the festival he runs. I have no idea what to make of this movie or what the 'film's team' is playing at here.

Compliment appreciated but I must pull back the reins on "rad" that is not how I would describe it and I should qualify my enthusiasm by admitting my nostalgia could easily be clouding my opinion. But if you read the books slash comics this spoiler is kind of cool The little red-haired girl finally speaks to Charlie Brown and it is kind of magical. After 50 years of teasing it was relief in a good way.

My big worry was that Blue Sky was gonna fundamentally misunderstand what made Peanuts good. It sounds like they pretty much get it, and I am so unbelievably down.

The thing I was worried about most was the idea of making it 3D and suddenly it doesn't look like Peanuts anymore, it looks like the bloated balloon monstrosities that hover above the Macy's parade and don't look like the characters at all. Or like when South Park goes 3D and their heads are suddenly these gigantic things or a stuffed Stewie from Family Guy doll that looks like a football and not like Stewie. But somehow they managed through technical wizardry to keep the brand identity intact. All the expressions are drawn by Schutz that they've re-purposed. It really feels like he's still involved. On the flip side the story IS kind of slow but in my opinion that's the Peanuts brand as well. You go back and re-watch the Christmas special and the pacing is slow. I worry about box office because of that and the expectations kids have for animated features these days but for me, a late-30s fan, I loved it. In fact I teared up at the end. Like Muppets it has a certain tug on the child inside you.

Yeah, slow pacing kind of comes with the territory, if anything that's a good sign.

Dick Trauma posted:If they literally did Archer with Charlie's appearance that would be fine with me. Actually, this would be the worst possible thing. It's like when I see Charlie Brown as Ash shooting his zombified friends ... it just misses the point entirely. No way Chuck doesn't die first. Hell, it's amazing if he isn't Patient Zero. He's not a badass and he never will be. He's just a sad, sensitive kid who has to keep trying because what other choice does he really have? This sounds like it could actually be good, but I'm going to just remain cautiously optimistic.

Like you wouldn't want to see Charlie Brown saying that he can't stop guzzling chocolate milk because he's afraid if he stopped the accumulated sugar rush might kill him.

The fact that it's basically bizarro Charlie is what makes the idea funny, to be fair.

Porn pseudonyms didn't get really goofy until like the late '80s. During porn's weird spike in legitimacy in the early '70s you could get away with calling yourself something fairly plain like Jamie Gillis or Gloria Leonard. (Jamie Gillis looks just like Eric Bogosian. (Not gonna play dumb, I watch an old porno once in a while and so should you all.))

The porn best names sound like double entendres when you say them but aren't. Harry Reems and Dirk Diggler are good examples of this.

Tomorrowland has been renamed to Project T in Belgium and the Netherlands. Apparently it has something to do with the EDM event Tomorrowland. I guess they didn't want to lure people in under false pretenses, because it's very easy to confuse that with a sci-fi movie starring George Clooney by a small studio like Disney. So yes, finally a movie retitling that is more generic than Live Free or Die Hard becoming Die Hard 4.0 Mierenneuker fucked around with this message at 14:35 on Apr 24, 2015 |

Tomorrowland the festival is higher in google results! To be honest, Project T sounds even more like some music event. In Russia it is called "The Land of Tomorrow", missing the Disneyland/EPCOT connotation and thus making it even more generic and unappealing (I don't see the appeal of that movie either way, save for Brad Bird reputation).

Sounds like it has a different title in every territory, in France it's "à la poursuite de demain" (Looking for tomorrow) Tomorrowland (the theme park) is known as Discoveryland in Disneyland Paris. It's a more steampunk, Jules Verne, late 19th century etc... theme, so I guess it wouldn't fit the modern space aesthetic of this movie.
