Hello I am trying to piece together a list of orbs that are foods for my wedding to my wife Vanessa. So far I have grapes berries melons, etc, and things like hushpuppies and whatever those chickpea ball things are. Please help me our wedding is ball themed edit: the food should ideally naturally be an orb or vaguely orbular in design (blueberies are not perfect spheres but are orbs enough) Things like meatballs are OK For example eggs are not orbs strong bird fucked around with this message at 01:40 on Jun 29, 2015 |

You're marrying this girl and your own balls aren't wedding dinner enough for her? She sounds pretty high maintenance man.

Why is your wedding balls themed? Are you both beach-volley players? Æbleskiver are orbular. If eggs aren't orbs, then how come grapes are? Radishes also

I don't know what these are called but my asian grocer sometimes has these awesome sesame ball things. Gulab Jamun are great too, they're these ridiculously sweet Indian milk balls. quote:Imagine, if you will, hot Krispy Kremes fresh out of the fryer, soaked in sugar syrup, and then served on top of some extra syrup. Gotta get some croquembouche, or cream-filled puff pastries (think round eclairs). It's even traditional at weddings, but I have no idea how hard it would be to find someone to execute it properly.

Brigadeiro's and beijinho's are Brazilian orby desserts that are loved by all. They are pretty much the same except one is rolled in coconut and the other is cocoa flavored and rolled in your favorite sprinkles.

The rationale for the balls is that because you met at an 80's themed party, both wearing Balls (tm) sweaters in complimentary neon colours? Because then I understand, and you should go ahead with a balls wedding. I am so much looking forward to the cube themed thread.

Skinny King Pimp posted:You obviously have to have a croquembouche for your wedding cake. Are these anything like struffoli? Because they look like struffoli. What about mochi balls? Potato dumplings? Matzo ball soup? Or can the balls not be dunked? Or just serve cookies because what are they if not a 2d representation of a 3d cookie ball?

Yeah, it's just choux pastry balls stuck together and then they make it all fancy by covering it with strings of caramel so it crunches a little bit. Sometimes they have cream in them, sometimes they don't. However, it's super hard to make well, so you get to find some really amazing pictures of amateur attempts:

My dad was a pastry chef in his younger years and he enlisted my aid in creating a croquembouche for a wedding once. Jesus fuckin' christ are those things a pain in the rear end to assemble, especially when your final product is gonna be around 4' tall.
