it's not in anyone's interest to "wind down", cutting an operation out of the blue in one fell swoop inspires the most confusion and most chance for escaping cleanly i feel.

hasn't pretty much everyone done this though when they have cut and run? if you say "we're definitely paying SOMEBODY back right now, trust us we'll get to you," everybody assumes it's just not their turn yet and it takes them until the trail is cold to start getting really suspicious.

at a block every 10 minutes 3,600 coins get mined per day. if all those coins are sold then it would take ~$800,000 per day to keep the price @ 220.

so not exactly surprising that unregulated exchanges experience technical difficulties when the price unexpectedly craters. since some form of relationship between miners and exchanges must exist. even if it's not a direct relationship.

Don't even use Agora that often actually. But this one time in many months I was going to and this happens!

bitcoin is like the Linux of money. it'll have a core of true believers for decades that believe that any day now, it'll become the standard instead of an alternative

some companies will play around with it, and the public will associate it with the nerdy fringe

for it to actually disappear, you'd need the fed actually cracking down on bitcoins
