I figure this is the correct thread for this question: Is there anything else like Titanicus, and are there any more books with Knights in? Knights seem dumb, and I don't like single-person mechs in general but a combination of Master of Mankind and Freeblade for Android make me want to give them a shot. But in novel form. Titans on the other hand are cool because they have crews. Alternately, is there anything like Eisenhorn/Ravenor/Cain/Gaunt starring some other vocation like Techpriests?

Thanks for the great OP, I've never read anything from BL so off I go to start Xenos. I noticed in the recommendations that I didn't see anything with a Dark Angels flavor. Do they have any good books or are they pretty terrible? Asking for a friend.

Vengeful spirit has a pretty decent subplot on a knight house that may or may not be traitorous. Some decent titan combat happens in Helsreach, and betrayer- but it's not as front and center as it is in Titanicus. That said, the "Of Mars" trilogy should be your one stop Mechanicum shop.

If so, it would make sense to utter "throne" under your breath during a particularly dire moment in the 30th millennium. They're actually talking about the Emp's solid gold toilet.

What was the DA books where it kicks off with torturing a fallen angel an they gently caress it all up, give Cypher a bunch of geneseed and have to commit suicide. I remember that one being a satisfying read.

I finished up Red Tithe last night, that Space Sharks vs. Night Lords book. It was a premise that had a lot of potential, but it was really just kind of bland. There were some interesting elements in there; the author tried to do something with a "young" chaos marine warband and the Space Sharks' mindset and structure as a nomad fleet. I can't really recommend it though.

Knights of the Imperium by Graham McNeil is a pretty fun read. A bit of Mechanicus and Knight household politics and lots of Knight vs Tyranids fighting.

A connection between librarians that went nowhere. Hints at the Carcharadon origin but left entirely ambiguous.

Has anyone read the books about the Battlefleet Gothic Imperial Navy books? Reading about colossal grim dark spaceships sounds amazing, but I'm pretty sure that the trilogy they are in is unfinished/dead in the water...

It's unfinished and is another case of narrative blue balls (happens a lot with 40k I'm finding) but it's pretty well written and has great characters.

I'm happy they're taking the "gently caress all this bullshit, how have you hosed things up so bad" route with Guilliman. (beast arises spoiler) Vulkan's near complete lack of giving a poo poo or even mentioning how badly they'd already started to gently caress things up was so dumb in that series, but him being in the series at all was dumb as hell. Now a direct comparison can't be drawn at TBA is set only a thousand years after the heresy rather than 12,000. I look forward to GW bringing more the primarchs back and hamfisting the end of times storyline it's rumored they're going for.
