Welcome back, K.Flaps. My translator buddy said Chapter 132 on kissmanga was basically done by google translate. Hopefully we'll get some better releases by Spinyback in the next few weeks. Chapter 160 (Korean scans) also came out today.

I guess reading something is better than nothing, but those kissmanga translations are rough at best. The guy doing them is inserting all kinds of fan fiction-y dialogue. So take 'em with a grain of salt.

My translator buddy said this about Chapter 133 on kissmanga:quote:The most fanfic-y line in this chapter was "I didn't use my full strength against you". The real translation would be something to the effect of "There is a huge difference between making you think 'I've been cut' and actually cutting you down". Remember when all we had were a bunch of crappy Wild Fang translations from back in the day? They'd just make stuff up, insert their own dialogue, or change aspects of the story. That's pretty much what the kissmanga guy is doing, too.

That's a good question. According to this page, they've sold over 63 million collected volumes since 1991. That's gotta be primarily Japanese sales, too, because Itagaki doesn't market his manga towards an American audience. Maybe it's been translated into other languages - someone else might know the answer to this - but I think the primary audience has always been Japan. To give some perspective, Hajime No Ippo has sold approximately 94 million volumes, and was originally published in 1989.

My theory about the latest chapter is that Musashi isn't trying to kill Hanayama, but instead slashed a kanji into Hanayama's back. Imagine how cool it would be if Hanayama had his awesome tattoo, plus the kanji for "warrior" or "noble" carved permanently into his skin? Sounds like something Itagaki might write, he's crazy and loves both characters.
