So quick question. How likely do you think ill be to find the ninjago city in a lego store this weekend? Specifically the store in London?

Officially it's not out till Sep 1st, but I'm going to assume you're a VIP. There are 4 stores in London, however I'm going to assume you mean the Leicester Square one. The godawful busy one you will have to queue outside for to get in. I'd suggest going to one of the two Westfield stores (Stratford or Shepherds Bush), they'll be (relatively) quieter, and more likely to have it.

I had those too, they were incredible. I actually really miss Technic stuff, it was Lego's biggest draw for me before the Star Wars sets came out. I haven't bought a Technic set since the early 2000's.

Oh yeah. Easy fix for sure. I just don't really care for how it looks officially.

So, I have almost pulled the trigger on the Snowspeeder like 10 times now and figured I might grab it today so I can stop thinking about it haha. How do those of you that bought it feel about it? Does it feel worth the $200 that price/part ratio is kind of bad. But the Snowspeeder is probably my favorite SW ship next to the X-wing, which I already have so I can die happy with both.

I also have a theory that the Falcon will be $600. Looking at the leaked pic, it's the same size as the old one and comes with tons of greebly bits. Even SW can sink under the 10c a part rule when that is the case. I guess a lot of it depends on if there is an interior and how substantial it is. But, I feel like Lego has to know that $800 is pretty crazy. i mean, it certainly isn't 4x the size of other other UCS sets no matter how big it is.

I was thinking, in the (incredibly unlikely )event that I wanted to spend $800 on lego at once, and that was the price tag. I could basically get The Snow Speeder, The Tie Fighter, Ninjago City and the fishing shack for around the same price, which sounds so much more appealing it's not even funny. No matter how awesome that Falcon is.

They had 10+ Ninjango City sets, and the fishing shop (!) so I grabbed one :D was going to get the London bus but didn't care too much for it. Had no idea fishing shop was already out. And yeah, had to queue but it moved pretty fast, and it also made sure the shop itself wasn't too crowded once we got on so we could take our time. I liked it more than the NY store at least.

I love mine. Part to price ratio isn't the best, but there's a fair amount of big plates, and the snowspeeder ends up being pretty big, definitely comparable to Red Five.
The shaping on the prow is super cool, and I love the nice touches with some extra functions that you'd not normally get in a display model.
Working flaps/airbrakes, since the stand lets you display it canted, having the flaps open on one side makes it look like it's in the middle of a banking turn.
As small a function as it is, my favourite thing about it is that the gunner controls are linked to the rear gun, and swivels when you turn it.

Just been myself. Loads of Ninjago Citys in stock and the fishing shop also on general sale as well (and they had at least 10 out so loads of stock).

The fishing shop is pretty good looking in person. A lot more so than I was expecting. Staff are really cool and friendly too and the queue moves really fast. The issue for me was all the people in there who literally queued up, got in the way of people and then left without buying anything? I suppose it is leicester square though so its to be expected.

Yeah it definitely seemed like a popular tourist spot, lots of people just taking photos of the sculptures (we did the same thing). The 2.5d mural was really great and I don't remember seeing something like that in the past. Even had some forced perspective stuff in it. Didn't get a photo of that unfortunately. They actually had a built Ninjango city in the play area that people could just play with which I thought was cool.

Woof. So. Finished the legs and feet. Allows for a dynamic range of poses, but not enough balljoints for the hips and ankles unfortunately. Ankles are sturdy however and allow for a strong regular stance, the hips are unfortunately the weakest point. Knees are predictably rock solid due to the ratchet hinges, to the point that I may cannibalize them and only have one ratchet joint there, then use the second ones for a different build for the hips, or maybe put one in the ankles instead of a balljoint and reinforce the hips with the ankle balljoints. Not sure yet. And yes, I know the knees are a bit too far up the legs, I made the hip-thigh connection lower instead of at the top of it and may change it later depending on how stable it is.

Side shot of one of the legs. Foot has a bending toe section, but only has a single axle connection to the lower leg, which is one of the reasons I'm considering swapping out for the ratchet joint. Toe section unfortunately could use stronger joints as well since I discovered the small ratchet joints used in many sets don't have nearly enough in this set to use in the toes of both feet, unfortunately. Tons of socket parts, but not nearly as many joint parts, I suspect since a lot of cockpit pieces for Nexo Knight sets have those joint attachments and that's what the socket parts are for.

DYNAMIC POSE!!!!!

DYNAMIC FALL AS I WAS TAKING A BACKUP PHOTO!!!!!!

So yeah. Iron Giant guy might have a point, in that it's rather difficult to make thick, strong joints with normal lego bricks instead of bionicle which are designed with many balljoints in mind, but it's still possible. Just have to keep working on the points of failure to reinforce or rebuild them to be stronger. I am not sure if I will rebuild the legs first, or if I will make the arms and head first so that I can more easily see the full weight of it and the main points of failure with everything assembled.

edit: thanks to the dynamic pose photos it looks like the point of failure was the ankle connection, which came disconnected from the foot while standing, so it may have been fine had I actually put bricks/plates down on the axle bricks to hold them in place.
