Fun fact: Heard holds the record for most yards in a game because he threw for 364 yards and rushed for 163 more against Cal.

We lost that game when our kicker missed the game-tying extra point.

Think I've heard that on 104.9 the Horn approximately too many times to count this week.

It remains super weird to me that Herman was totally cool with showing up and turning Greg Ward a dude who hadn't played QB before he got to Houston into a quality one, but he won't put Jerrod Heard back there and like figure something out. It's not like Heard didn't have some really impressive games when he was QB. The Texas oline is awful and they've completely taken a growth year away from Ehlinger so his dumb macho rear end can get concussed.

Ehlingers been most effective as a runner, so yeah I'm not sure it'd be a huge difference. He had good teams at OSU when Braxton Miller was the QB too, and Heard isn't any worse as a passer than Miller was

Agree that Heard seems like a really natural fit for Herman’s offense as seen at tOSU and Houston. And I’d love to see him unleashed again because drat he could be electric. Weird that he never really seemed to get a look when Herman arrived.

I wonder how much of it was Heard just not being interested in competing for the QB spot again. I mean if he has an NFL future at this point it’s much more likely to be at WR, maybe he wants to get more experience and put together film there.

Also our big 2018 QB commit is apparently a pro-style pocket passer which seems odd. For that matter Herman went after Kyle Allen at Houston so who knows what he’s got in mind.

OU will be breaking in a new QB and new secondary

TCU will be replacing 5 starters on defense and 8 on offense

OSU will be replacing 5 on offense and 5 on defense, including QB and their best WR

ISU also replaces 5 on offense and 5 on defense.
