Top plamo sellers for October, per Hobbysearch.com:

http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/ranking/month/109

PG Exia doing well, predictably. Freedom 2.0 and RX-78-2 Revive pulling surprisingly strong after all this time. GM/GM rocking hard, as it should. HG Winning Fumina making GBS threads up the joint, for some reason. And not a sign of ZZ ver.Ka

It's in all the model shops display cabinets here always with a flat top coat and it looks incredible.

It was on my list but I can get it shipped for the same price so I'm not in any hurry.

Waverider mode looks insane.

I ended up with 3 unicorns, HG gloss injections of base and destroy mode, RG gundam base version, clear MG Aile strike which looks totally boss, RG gloss Sinanju, HG Gundam Local Type (North American Front), HG clear Heavy arms, assortment of bases and Kotobukiya Evangelion V Godzilla Unit 1 Mecha Godzilla Ver.

I wanted to buy so much more but I'm already running out of luggage space.

It would just end up costing the same as buying them online.

I've got enough kits to last me another year on top of my current backlog. And money, that old chestnut.

I think I've also picked up another money sink idea while I'm here. I'm seriously going to look how much it would cost to import a Kei van. They look so goddamn adorable.

for the second ever C-SPAM Gunpla Challenge, we've decided to go with a theme instead of a specific kit.
Unfortunately we can't think of a theme. What's a good theme for a Gunpla challenge?

Some themes are bad if you aren't steeped in the lore; here are some ideas:

Used by a selected pilot or faction.
Appearing in a selected series.
Must be a specific color.
Has wings.
Has a physical sword or melee weapon.
Aquatic suits.
No legs.
No head.
No arms.
No guns.
Must have bazooka.
Must have shield.
Lost to/defeated a Mobile Armor.
Prototypes only.
Transforming only.

Mass production only might be another good one. Maybe civilian use?

Of course I moved back to Michigan right before they expanded their gunpla selection. Last time I went there they only had about half of one of those aisles and it wasn't as densely packed. I still don't know where I'm going to find Tamiya paint now.

At least now I'm within driving distance to Gundam Store And More! :suicide: I think the trip I made out there was the last time they were restocked.

Nankin Hobby in Farmington and RIW Hobbies in Livonia for sure carry Tamiya. I just heard there is a store that sells Gundam in Ypsilanti on Michigan Ave. and Howell who might as well. There used to be a Hobby town in Ypsi near that plaza just off 94, but I haven't been out there in a year or so.

On the topic of plastic tubs and mould lines:

I know it's expensive, and it seems stupid compared to an exacto, but do yourselves a favor and just buy this.

It is very rigid, has sharp corners, and a good weight to it. It cleans up plastic like a hot knife through butter.
