I suppose that perhaps part of the point of including these novel items in the Advent Calendar is to expose them to people who wouldn't normally have seen them, so they ask the same questions as in this thread and are encouraged to look up the sources. Hopefully without being accused of autistic screeching, but what do I know?

Yep. Worth waiting a few weeks to pic up the new modular in order to snag that bad boy.

Well, it's a microscale monorail, I suspect it looks better in person. Click on the pic for embiggening.

I think the problem is it is only part of the set as opposed to the others which are full sets.

Tie fighters feel like Legos most neglected OT thing. Yeah there is the big one and the TFA one, but the normal tie has always been my least favorite for some reason. Really wish they would give the interceptor and bomber some love. Afaik they haven't done either in like 15 years and the old ones look terrible.

I almost bought Vader vs the A wing to get Vaders tie, but that A wing just looked too weird to justify $90

The Vader’s TIE isn’t as good as the prior one either. The A-Wing is based off its appearance in Rebels I guess? Not a great set.

Especially since they put out an a wing that was literally perfect right after.

And yeah Vaders tie looked pretty underwhelming.

Also $90 was ridiculous for that set. That was a $60 set at best.

The cloud car is great. it's so stupid looking and doesn't make any sense but I love it. Definitely the weirdest ship in SW, maybe along with Slave 1. But Slave 1 is cool weird and CC is dorky weird.

I scored a gonk tile print off BL from the Sandcrawler for 50 cents and it usually goes for like 10 bux. Was stoked on that. I still need to put him together though.

Speaking of droids and their masters. The new battle pack is Jawas and Sandpeople :woop: between that and the bounty hunters I think it's rad that they are actually putting stuff other than generic troopers. Now just do an Ewok one.

The old Cloud Car is the last set I bought before my Dark Times and I still love it. Give me a new one that uses all the fantastic curved slopes that didn’t exist in 2002. Toss in Lobot, cloud city Lando, and two pilots modeled after the ridiculous vintage Kenner designs. I’ll happily pay $35 for that set.

Say what you will about the prequels as movies, but they had some pretty sweet ship/vehicle designs. I'd love it if Lego made the royal Naboo spaceships, especially the one from the start of Episode II. Chrome would be difficult, but I reckon they'd look good in pearl silver. IMO there's still mileage in podracers as well.

But yeah, the OT is pretty tapped out now. As others have said, updated TIE Interceptors and Bombers would be cool, and a UCS A Wing, but that's all I want to see.

Has anyone seen leaked images of the Tatooine battle pack? That's the only new Star Wars set I really want, especially if it has a Bantha.

Attack of the Clones actually, but yeah, that's the one I love the most. And you're right, it's never had a set made of it, probably because it's chrome.

You could probably part it out on bricklink for 1/2 that. The only rare pieces are the TV antenna and the flag, those two alone will probably run you $20-$40 but the rest of the set is pretty easy to get. You're gonna be ordering from like 20 different stores though. :v:

I was also a lover of space sets when I was a child and have been rebuilding mine but I don't think I had that one. I need to get longer shelves so that I can put all of mine together. I've still got some more to finish building.

I regret not buying a second one for the parts.

You can still get them, the markup is not horrible yet (was a $99 set new, amazon has it for $130-ish) so if you want one NIB, pull that plug. Bricklink sells them for under $100, just read carefully and don't get one with stripped minifigs.

Or keep an eye at garage sales in a few years. :v:

My God, it's full of cat pictures!

I remember getting the Galaxy Commander for Christmas when I was a kid; when I saw the Spaceship (x3) in the movie, I knew I had to have it. Still the only kit I've bought as an adult, and I have no regrets. Definitely fun to build--I was giggling off and on throughout as I read the instructions. It's an absolutely excessive and overbuilt classic space set, and I love it for that.

If you're making GBS threads on Rebels (and Clone Wars by proxy) for being for kids then you got a huge stick up your rear end. They are great shows, esp Clone Wars, and are for the masses.

Guess what - the movies are for kids too idiots.
