Of course they end the anime by destroying King Records.

I laughed that the evil council from episode 1 was followed up on.

I was hoping for Evangelion folks, but having Popuko, voiced by--ohh, poo poo, Koyama who voiced Queen Serenity in Sailor Moon Crystal, that was the joke for the girls this time--say Mitsuishi's sailor moon thing wasn't bad. First time I could recognize a voice before reading who they are beforehand, but her Usagi voice is really recognizable.

At least they had 'target in the center, pull the switch' and "saabisu saabisu!" haha I missed that second one first time around.

Including Verdi was also good. This anime was good.

I'm just glad they didn't go for some crappy non-ending and that Daichi not only confessed, but proposed to her.

I just hope they don't start coming up with fake nonsense drama to string us along further in season 2. The weird magic nonsense at the last minute isn't a good sign though.

It's not your style, but you watched the whole show? :thunk:

Anyways it was a decent wrap-up, even if the last main skit felt sort of substanceless (though the voices in b-part helped for sure).

Overall I still share the same sentiments that i did after a couple of episodes-it was a uniquely enjoyable ride, but not one that's worth re-experiencing save for a couple of skits (hellshake yano...). I'd rate other comedy series much higher than PTE, but this show does scratch a certain itch that most anime don't.

If any of you've enjoyed Pop Team Epic through and through, I'd highly recommend Gintama. It's not an exact match in its humor, but it gets pretty surreal, and loves it's references, satire, and 4th-wall breaking humor as much as this show does. Just...skip the first two episodes and keep an open mind while watching it.

Gintama also has puns out the rear end
So much puns attempts to bring it over and dub were all abandoned because so much of the humor relies on Japanese wordplay.
