Leviathan's the better movie, but god drat is that a great poster, and a great scene in the flick itself.

I remember this and Leviathan came out around the same time and were very similar, but Leviathan had Robocop and Amanda Pays in her underwear, so I preferred that.

Also Richard Crenna, Dainel Stern and Ernie Hudson. Solid not-quite-A-list cast. Both of these and The Abyss in the same year too.

Written by David Peoples too. That man had a ridiculously strong resume - he debuted with Blade Runner, then went on to do Salute of the Jugger, Unforgiven and 12 Monkeys before disappearing completely.

I see. Maybe that's just me, but when I think of Tom Hardy, I think of his goddamn big bald head in Bronson:

:psyduck: how did this movie get a loving 18 in the UK? that's the same rating that, like, Green Room and The Beyond have, whereas Solo is literally a teen action movie

is there some kind of extra-hardcore UK cut of the movie where people are getting squibbed like crazy whenever they get shot or something? did the MPAA fall asleep and it turns out the movie is actually way way more violent than I remember?

1989. There was also Lords of the Deep which was a Corman film with the tagline 'with special Effects from the people behind Aliens' as it's big marketing push.

You can blame The Emoji Movie for Peele's retirement. They offered him the role of Poop and he had to reevaluate things.

i wasn't really talking about him acting, i more meant it'd be cool to see him do comedy stuff again

he wrote 17 episodes of K&P, including some of the best sketches, and that's what i was referring to more with the reference- dude's a loving comedic genius on both sides of the camera
