Yes, I guess, there is this goon who is credited as the creator, and probably has the rights, everyone else who made art and the early stories on the first thread are probably gonna just die poor or something.

I cried so stupidly hard at the end of 7. For such a ridiculous franchise it really did feel like a genuine labor of love that Walker was the core of, 8 suffered so much not having him.

You compare that CGI Carrie Fisher in Rogue One to Furious 7, and while one feels so shallow and exploitative, the latter in what's supposed to be a trashy car chase action franchise feels so much more real and out of respect.

Rogue One isn't a memorial to Fisher though, she was still alive when the film released. It's just the Disney de-aging magic (tm). Did you mean Peter Cushing?

He went and copyrighted the character in 2010 according to the articles about the lawsuit that Sony is putting on an independent distributor who is putting out a film called Flay that features a Slendermanesque monster - so that dude has already made a chunk of money since Sony bought the film rights a few years ago.

But if the movie hits well enough, he’s really, really gonna enjoy that first royalty check.

Originally it was in the ballpark of Who Framed Roger Rabbit but with puppets instead of toons but then it got caught in development hell for years and years and its tone got changed to ... that.

Honestly, I think what I actually wanted the Happytime Murders to be is basically Riverdale in the sense that it's a comedy without jokes. Riverdale never tries to be funny because a mobster lamenting that Jughead is constantly getting in his way is inherently funny.

A stark and completely straight beautifully shot noir about puppets is hilarious in its own right. Where the film hosed up was thinking that it needed silly string cum.

That trailer played in front of Blindspotting, and I instantly thought "If this segues into Tearz I'm seeing it in theaters and if it doesn't, I'm not."

The only time I've heard the original used was the carousel bit in Fatih Akin's Head-On.
