Yeah, you don't need a conspiracy to short a bubble in a completely speculative asset. That said, the declines are starting to peter out and eventually it will reach more of a more narrow price range since there is such low market volume. I guess it is debatable if bitcoin has "another go around" in it left at this point.

When numbers go down we should instead talk about Satoshis per USD. Currently you can buy (100,000,000/6212.46=) 16,096 Satoshi for 1 USD! Soon you'll be able to buy 17,000 then 18,000, and so on! And if it all collapses you might even be able to buy a billion for 1 USD again! One BILLION Satoshis! What a deal!

I like how tether collapsing vs bitcoin causes enough of the less-than-gifted bitcoin traders to think "number go up!" so they decide now is a great time to pay more actual USD for bitcoin even though it's loving horrible news.

tether collapsing? how is that possible when each tether is "backed" (not backed at all) by exactly 1 actual us dollar that exists (does not exist) that it can be redeemed for (by anyone except the guy printing them)

For future reference, we were just able to watch it go from 2000ish unconfirmed transactions to 3000+ unconfirmed transactions in about five minutes. Not too familiar with the rate myself, but that sounds... bad.

it hit 11 k before then a bunch got cleared. its in that kind of pattern now. Several thousan get cleared but they come in so fast that it builds back up to the original amount really fast and then just keeps going.

Bitcoin transactions get processed every ~10 minutes, that's when a bunch get cleared.

During the run-up, Bitcoin was around 150k-250k transactions at times for entire weeks. https://jochen-hoenicke.de/queue/#0,all - I believe Coinbase fixed something and most of the problems went away? Not that it isn't absolutely nuts that it can't handle more than few transactions relative to a real payment network of course, lol
