Yeah the Disney CMF Mickey/Minney aren't 100% the same colors as the Steamboat Willie ones but they are close enough for most i'd assume.

Im kinda in the market for both the sets though, the official Steamboat Willie is so much better than the Ideas one. No way i am buying it at that price though, it looks like it should barely cost half.

Question, comment and observation:

Comment first: this is amazing I love it.

Question: is the roof at a slant from front to back?

Observation: I’m chuckling because all I see in your John Wick minifig (which is outstanding) is Peter Dinklage in Elf, for some reason. XD

1. Thank you so much!
2. Yeah, the whole cabin is raked. Getting it all aligned was the most difficult part of the build.
3. Hah, that's great. I wanted him to have a displeased look on his face, so the head used is actually General Zod from the Lego Batman Movie CMFs. The side effect of this is I can have a John Wick with glowing red eyes.

Could use Bossks head from Star Wars for an Argonian. Chima heads for the cat people. There are plenty of elf type hairs with the ears on from lord of the rings, so I guess you are just stuck on dunmer heads. There must be something suitable, I just can't think.

Yeah, I was thinking Chima since that line had a lot of animal things. I actually built a flame and ice atronach from some of the Nexo Knights stuff.

I didn't think about Bossk heads, so that might work.

Oh, dope! Let's celebrate with another Mustang!

Hey, does anyone remember when we were all waiting to see what the 2018 Speed Champions sets would be, and then it popped up on Facebook that LEGO built Ken Block a custom model of his Hoonicorn V1, and we thought it would be so cool if we could get that as an official set? And we didn't? Hooray! Anyway, I made my own, inspired more by the prototype TLG posted on Twitter, because I really liked how they did the hood stacks and cabin more on that one, with my other main reference being the original concept art.

Most importantly, it has brick-built taillights instead of stickers, its spoiler sits on the corner of the deck rather than hanging off the back, and the sides have much more depth and texture to suggest the original '65 Mustang bodywork underneath all the custom fabrication. Oh, and the rear windshield isn't a trans-clear slope. That stuff really bothered me on the LEGO version.

Obligatory driver portrait:

Oh yeah, and because this one is really more of a MOD than a MOC, I went ahead and threw the instructions up for free.

edit: oh also I'm annoyed because I actually have a way better C-pillar design, but I can't make it in black. I'm super not used to pieces not being available in black. C'mon, LEGO.

You may be thinking of ? If so, it did serve as inspiration - many, many years ago I bought it as a gift for a friend and always regretted not getting one for myself (it was being retired and on clearance for $50, sigh). The Keatonmobile was obviously the other inspiration.

Lego VIP updates!

Lego VIP email posted:

We’re super excited to let you know we’re making improvements to the LEGO® VIP program!

Thanks to feedback we’ve had from our awesome VIP customers, we’ve been working on some great ideas that will make your membership even better.

We’re making things better
In the coming months, we’ll be launching an online rewards center that will introduce some new ways to earn and spend VIP points.

To support our Planet Promise, we’ll also be going digital with VIP cards. Physical cards will be available for anyone who still wants one.

When it’s all happening
We’re working hard on the updates and you’ll see the first changes come into effect in two months from now.

Your points will still be available
All your existing VIP points will still be available and worth the exact same value. All your points will be valid for at least 18 months. We’ll reset the clock on all your points every time you earn or spend any points, so you can use them for longer. Yay!

You’ll still be able to use your points to get discounts at LEGO Stores and on shop.LEGO.com. You’ll also be able to manage your points through the online rewards center (you’ll need internet to access it).

Do I need to do anything?
For the time being, we suggest you make sure that your VIP account is registered. This means that your VIP Account is linked to an online LEGO Account.
